    Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to appeal a denial?+
In most cases, you have 60 days for an internal appeal and 2 years to file a lawsuit. However, this varies by policy. Contact us immediately to confirm your deadline.
What does 'no upfront costs' mean?+
We work on contingency. You don't pay us anything unless we win your case. Our fee comes from the recovery, so there's no financial risk to you.
Can I appeal if my benefits were cut off years ago?+
Possibly. While there are time limits, some situations allow for late appeals or litigation. Contact us for a free assessment.
    What's the 24-month mental health limitation?+
Many policies limit benefits for mental health conditions to 24 months. However, if you also have physical conditions, this limitation may not apply. We regularly overturn these denials.
Do I need a lawyer for my appeal?+
Legally, no. Practically, having an experienced disability lawyer dramatically improves your chances. Insurance companies have teams of lawyers. You should too.

What to Know About Insurer Surveillance

Yes, your insurance company may be watching you.

    What Insurers Do

    • Hire private investigators
    • Monitor your social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
    • Film you in public places
    • Document activities (grocery shopping, walking, driving)
    • Use footage to contradict your disability claim

    What's Legal

    • Filming you in public places
    • Reviewing your public social media posts
    • Documenting activities visible from public streets

    What's Not Legal

    • Trespassing on private property
    • Entering your home without permission
    • Hacking your accounts

    How to Protect Your Claim

    1. 1Assume you're being watched in public
    2. 2Set all social media to private (or delete accounts)
    3. 3Don't post photos of activities, even on "good days"
    4. 4Tell family/friends not to tag you in posts
    5. 5Be honest about your capabilities (a "good day" doesn't mean you're not disabled)
    6. 6Document the FULL picture (show bad days, not just moments)

What If You're Caught on Video?

Don't panic. Surveillance footage often lacks context:

    • A 2-minute video doesn't show the 3 days of recovery after
    • Grocery shopping does not equal ability to work 40 hours per week
    • Walking does not equal ability to sit at a desk all day

We rebut surveillance with medical context and functional evidence.
