Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to an inclusive experience for everyone
Our Commitment
At Mirza Law, we represent people living with disabilities. Accessibility isn't just a legal requirement for us — it's central to who we are and who we serve. We are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, regardless of ability or technology.
Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.
We also strive to comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
What We've Done
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone
- Skip to content: A "Skip to main content" link appears when you press Tab, allowing keyboard users to bypass the navigation menu
- Screen reader support: We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and proper heading structure to support assistive technology
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Readable text: We use clear, plain language and legible font sizes throughout the site
- Text resize: Use the "Aa" button in the bottom-right corner to increase text size up to 125% without breaking the layout
- Responsive design: The site works across different screen sizes, devices, and orientations
- Focus indicators: Visible focus styles help keyboard users navigate the site
- Breadcrumb navigation: Deep pages include breadcrumbs so you always know where you are and can navigate back easily
- Alternative text: Images include descriptive alt text for screen readers
- Reduced motion: We respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" setting for users sensitive to animations
- Back to top: A button appears as you scroll to quickly return to the top of any page
